The IAEAC organized again a successful invited symposium at PITTCON 2026. Under the topic of Advanced Concepts for On-site Biosensors, Antje Baeumner (University of Regensburg, Germany), Koji Sode (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA), Trisha Andrew (University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA) and Ariel Furst (MIT, USA) discussed new advances in biosensor technology. This included development in biorecognition, nanomaterials, biological redox reactions, and microfluidics for diagnostics outside of the traditional lab. Point-of-care, wearable and in-field testing is enabled providing desirable features of sensitivity, specificity, reliability combined with ease-of-use and low-cost fabrication.
